When made the cardboard car can be used with in the "Buckle Me Up" Road Safety Circle Game. Details of this game are distributed to participants when they attend "Road Safety:Ideas for Programming" workshop.
How to make a Cardboard Car
- Collect a large cardboard box.
- Cut out the base.
- Cut curved sides to symbolise doors.
- Paint and decorate body of car.
- Decorate four paper plates as wheels and attach onto ‘car’.
- Attach one long shoulder strap to represent a seatbelt (elastic, pantyhose or fabric) onto each side of box.
- Stick a Kids and Traffic “Safety Door Sticker” onto the ‘window’ of the car.
- ‘Drive’ the car and look out for pedestrians.
